REALTIST OF METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS

Founded on July 29, 1947, in Tampa, Florida, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) emerged as a pivotal organization advocating for equal housing opportunities during a time when African American professionals were systematically excluded from mainstream real estate associations. Established by twelve visionaries—eleven men and one woman—from seven states, NAREB sought to champion "Democracy in Housing," a mission that continues to guide its efforts today .

Members of NAREB are known as "Realtists," a term that signifies their commitment to promoting fair housing and professional excellence within the real estate industry . Over the decades, NAREB has been instrumental in advocating for landmark legislation, including the Fair Housing Act of 1968, and has consistently worked to dismantle barriers to homeownership for African Americans .

The Realtist of Metropolitan St. Louis stands as a proud local chapter of NAREB, dedicated to upholding the organization's legacy by empowering Black real estate professionals and fostering sustainable homeownership within the St. Louis community. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we continue to strive toward a more equitable and inclusive housing landscape.

The Realtist of Metropolitan St. Louis is proud to align with the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) through five dynamic local programs that reflect NAREB’s Five Pillars of Building Black Wealth. Each initiative is tailored to empower our community and foster sustainable homeownership and economic equity.
